Making Your Way User's Guide

This User’s Guide to Making Your Way: A Reception and Placement Curriculum was developed with the new and the experienced orientation provider in mind; it can be used in a step-by-step manner for self-training purposes by someone new to training, or it can be used selectively by the more experienced trainer wishing to review only certain sections.

Contents of this section include an overview of the curriculum, including how to use the resource, information on the design of the curriculum and organization of the units, and explanations of curriculum flexibility in various regards (time, group size, trainer experience, and different levels of education); a section on staff preparation; and a section on tools for trainers and orientation development, with sub-sections on topics such as instructional approach, working with groups of different sizes, incorporating English into orientation, needs assessment, and learning assessments.
